What do you do when you are not in the lab?

I love to help developing new companies and ventures around pharmaceutical innovations or spending time with my family and pets.

Where are you from? How many languages do you speak?

I am from Ufa, a large industrial city in Ural region of Russia. From childhood I was very interested in languages and cultures inhibiting Ural region. In addition to Russian and English, I know and speak small number of languages from Altaic language group such as Turkish, Tatar, Bashkir and others.

List interesting facts about you:

Art is a very important part of my life, I love to express myself through the art in particular:
• Photography: in particular portrait, still life and street photography.
• Painting: I paint mostly with acrylics (obvious choice for person close to polymer science) and so far I classify my paintings as a Scientific Abstractionism
• Music: I play piano and violin
• Graphic design: in particular visual art, typography, layout and interface design
• Communication art: which I believe is most essential form of art for any scientist. Art of delivering often very complex and multi-layered information to the audience through creative use of media
